Megan and Wolf
Megan is the first woman I got to know. We met in the parking lot of a local church where I was dropping my son off for a Boy Scout camping trip. She and her husband Wolf had volunteered to help with transportation and watching over the boys in the Mohave desert where they will be firing off rockets today.
Megan was extremely receptive to the idea, although a little nervous. And I am glad that Wolf gave her the opportunity to participate because I learned that she, like me, is from Florida, and we both lived in Jacksonville at one time in our lives. Funny, neither one of us consider ourselves “Southern.”
Megan moved to Los Angeles to be in the film business where she is currently working as an editor on the sequel to the animated film Angry Birds. This had been a passion of hers since high school. Another passion is martial arts. Megan is in the process of earning her 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo.
When I asked her if she has ever had to use her martial arts experience to defend herself, she told me that she has always been able to defuse a situation due to her training. Megan wants you to know that with all her training she is most proud that she can "fall properly.” I suspect there’s more to that but didn’t want to test her.
