"Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels."
This seems to sum up this blog and all that I have set out to achieve by writing it. So what does it mean to you? How will this quote be used in your life today, or everyday? Do you have a story where this quote would be applicable? For me, it happened a few years ago. My daughter and I met a father and son at the playground. He and I talked while our two kids played, for they had no other form of communication at that point. I entertained this stranger with childbearing stories and war stories of work and unemployment. He entertained me with stories of same. My daughter entertained her stranger by pulling him by the hand towards the swings and up the slide. He entertained her by following her lead. We exchanged business cards and handshakes. Then left. I took my daughter home. A few days later, found his card and called the number. I invited this stranger and his family into my home to help us celebrate my daughters second birthday with a bunch of other strangers whom my wife had met at Mommy and Me class. They came. They had fun. And to this day, remain close friends. One simple act towards a stranger and we received the blessing of angels. So today, tomorrow and everyday heed this advice "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels." - Hebrews 13:2 (NKJV)
